Born in Stockholm to Kazak-Russian parents, he was a talented tennis player in his youth, but after hearing the powerful emotion of Bach's 'Concerto in A Minor' for the first time at the age of six, he set his heart on mastering the violin. His natural feel for the instrument stood out from his very first lesson and two years later he was performing with the Moscow Virtuoso Chamber Orchestra before he began studying at the Karlsruhe University of Music under Josef Rissin in 2012. He was also mentored by Eduard Wulfson, won a string of high profile classical music contests, including the prestigious Vladimir Spivakov International Violin Competition in 2016, and performed as a soloist across Europe, most regularly with the Mariinsky Orchestra led by conductor Valery Gregiev. Signed to Deutsch Grammophon at the age of 16, he played on fellow violinist Daniel Hope's album 'My Tribute to Yehudi Menuhin' before releasing his debut album 'Bach's Violin Concertos Nos. 1&2 and Partita No. 2' with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in 2018.
