Krisdayanti

Born as "Kris Dayanti" on March 24, 1975, the Indonesian pop singer Krisdayanti was raised in Batu, East Java, in a family that also included her sister, vocalist Yuni Shara. Krisdayanti made her studio debut at age 12 with 1987's Biasa Saja, then found a wider audience after winning the internationally televised singing competition Asia Bagus in 1992. Her first major-label album, Terserah, was released three years later, followed by three collections of duets — 1996's Cinta and Hanya Tuhan, as well as 1997's Kasih — recorded with her first husband, Anang. All three albums were wildly popular in Indonesia, with Cinta winning two awards at the Anugerah Musik Indonesia ceremony in 1997. Krisdayanti's reputation quickly spread across southeast Asia, where 1999's Menghitung Hari became one of the decade's best-selling albums in Malaysia. Her career continued to flourish during the early 2000s, too, with Krisdayanti releasing multiple solo records (including 2000's Mencintaimu, which won a pair of Anugerah Musik Indonesia awards, as well as 2004's triple-platinum Cahaya) and several duet albums with Anang and Siti Nurhaliza. She also performed with 3 Diva, a short-lived vocal trio featuring Titi DJ and Ruth Sahanaya. After releasing a greatest hits compilation, Persembahan Ratu Cinta, in 2013, she focused on her political career for multiple years. "Hanya Memuji" marked her return to music in 2021, with Krisdayanti finding a new duet partner in Sandhy Sondoro.
