Hot Milk

Manchester's Hot Milk first burst onto the scene in 2019 with the release of their debut EP, Are You Feeling Alive? Catching the ears of the public with their blend of emo and power pop, the band toured in support of Foo Fighters before issuing their sophomore EP, I Just Wanna Know What Happens When I'm Dead, in 2021. The group was formed in 2018 by Hannah Mee and James Shaw, who had spent years gigging separately in different bands but got together one evening and decided to try writing a song between them. The one song turned into more, and before long the duo had raft of original material, inspired not only by the punk scene but also pop. Drafting in local friends, bassist Tom Paton and drummer Harry Deller, to fill out the band, Hot Milk was born. The four-piece delivered their debut EP, Are You Feeling Alive?, in 2019, followed by a handful of tracks, including "Candy Coated Lie$" and "California's Burning." After a few gigs, the group found themselves supporting the likes of You Me at Six, Deaf Havana, and Foo Fighters, while also gracing the stages of Download and Reading & Leeds festivals. Following the success of their debut, Hot Milk signed a deal with Music for Nations, which reissued the band's self-released singles in 2020 before they set about recording new material. Their second EP, I Just Wanna Know What Happens When I'm Dead, was issued in late 2021.
