Barei
Bárbara Reyzábal González-Aller was born on March 29, 1982 in Madrid, into a family well-known in the audiovisual production world. When she began singing, she mainly performed covers of songs by artists such as Christina Aguilera and Laura Pausini. In 2011, she took on the pseudonym Barei and recorded the Latino pop album Billete Para No Volver, which met with no success. She then changed her style, moving towards contemporary, urban pop with soul, funk and electro influences. This change was marked by the Spanish chart entry of the single "Wildest Horses" in 2014. Despite this, the album Throw the Dice, released in 2015, still failed to get her career off the ground. In February 2016, Barei won the selections to represent her country at the Eurovision Song Contest with the track "Say Ay!". Although she only finished twenty-second in the final, which took place in Stockholm, Barei saw her song become a hit in Spain and, to a lesser extent, in Sweden and France.
