Jazz 'Round Midnight is an enjoyable budget-priced sampler of 14 songs from Antonio Carlos Jobim's stint at Verve. While this collection is hardly definitive, it is quite enjoyable, sporting an appealingly low-key, seductive atmosphere and several dynamite performances, including versions of "Passarim," "Amor Em Paz (Once I Loved)," "So danco Samba (Jazz Samba)," "Samba de Uma Nota So (One Note Samba)," "Looks Like December," "No More Blues," "Luiza" and "Insensatez (How Insensitive)."
