Anlässlich seines 20-jährige Bestehens gab Le Concert d'Astrée im November 2021 unter der Leitung seiner Gründerin Emmanuelle Haïm zwei Konzerte in Berlin und Paris: Ein festlicher Blick zurück auf zwei Jahrzehnte fruchtbarer und freudiger Zusammenarbeit. An beiden Abenden erklangen in der Staatsoper Unter den Linden und im Théâtre des Champs-Elysées die schönsten Opernwerke von Händel, Rameau, Purcell, Vivaldi und Campra. Das Ensemble Le Concert d'Astrée, das einen soliden Ruf besitzt, konnte auf die Anwesenheit renommierter Gäste wie Natalie Dessay, Léa Desandre, Sabine Devieilhe, Rolando Villazón und Laurent Naouri zählen. Das Jubiläum veranlasste die Künstler auch zu einer humanitären Geste: Großzügig spendeten sie ihre Gage zugunsten der medizinischen Forschung an das Pariser Institut du Cerveau (Institut zur Erforschung von Gehirn und Rückenmark).
Glücklicherweise wurden Live-Aufzeichnungen realisiert, die die freudig erregte Stimmung des Publikums und der Künstler an diesen außergewöhnlichen Abenden originalgetreu wiedergeben. Welch eine Freude, die großartigen Les Indes galantes von Rameau oder Dido and Aeneas von Purcell neben selteneren, aber ebenso prächtigen Werken wie Campras Idomeneo oder Vivaldis Juditha Triumphans zu hören!
