Was für eine wunderbare Überraschung! Über diese so selten gespielten Kompositionen von Martinů für Vokalensemble, wahre Wunderwerke, werden sich alle Martinůphilen, aber natürlich auch alle anderen Liebhaber schöner Stimmen, wunderbarer Vokalkompositionen und Raritäten freuen. Die hier vom Ensemble Martinů Voices präsentierten Werke sind übrigens streng genommen nicht alle Madrigale – neben Madrigalen gibt es auch geistliche Zyklen und volkstümlich inspirierte Stücke – und stammen aus der großen Schaffensperiode des Komponisten, zwischen 1934 und seinem Tod 1959. Nicht alle sind echte a capella-Stücke: Die Drei Geistlichen Lieder werden von einer Solovioline begleitet, und bei Primel H. 348 von 1948 werden die Gesangsstimmen durch Violine und Klavier ergänzt. In den Fünf Tschechischen Madrigalen von 1948 erreicht die polyphone Kunst des Komponisten ihren Höhepunkt: zart, transparent, aufrichtig, reine Schönheit, vom Ensemble Martinů Voices mit Hingabe interpretiert, unter der Leitung von Lukáš Vasilek, der offensichtlich weiß, wovon er spricht, – vielmehr, wovon er singt. © SM/Qobuz
