Watsonville Patio

Using pop/rock-style melodious marks, Watsonville Patio eventually created their unique outline of indie rock tunes, completed on dusky ballads and on silvery themes, upheld by inspiring and intense lyrics. Forming in Los Angeles, CA, in 1995, Watsonville Patio consisted of William Venturelli (bass), Josh Vasquez (drums), and Ralph Vasquez (guitar). Vocalist Janice Grube was the later addition to the lineup, after she answered an advertisement on a local newspaper. Inspired by the title of a painting by Robert Bechtle, the Californians settled on the name Watsonville Pation shortly after assembling and decided on entering the studio not long after that. Patio then swiftly recorded a set of eight songs, which later became the band's first disc. In 1996, after releasing their debut self-titled EP, Watsonville Patio, the group entered its first U.S. tour. Receiving raving reviews by the media, the crew also started gathering a loyal and always-rising fan base. It was then that Ralph Vasquez left the band, being substituted by Dylan Brock. During the following years, Patio released their first two albums, Hotel Roselynn and Population 02, and played numerous live concerts. In 2000, Brock also parted ways with the group, being substituted by Greg Windell. During the following year, the band recorded its third album, Cover the Sun With One Finger, with the help of producer Brad Cobb.
