Thiago Martins
Born on September 19th, 1988 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazilian celebrity Thiago Martins has introduced fans to many different personas since debuting on TV screens at the start of the 21st century. Securing acting roles in everything from soaps to theatre to sitcoms, he later began to explore various musical pursuits on the side, lending his vocals to various groups including Guerreiros de Jorge and Trio Ternura for releases and live shows. In 2014, Martins released a self-titled debut album of his own, which explored both poppy sonics and the romantic pagode style of samba music and included a collaboration with Banda Eva singer Ivete Sangalo. In the following years, Martins released a string of non-album singles including collaborations with Dom M, Jeito Moleque and MC Marcinho as well as numerous live recordings. In 2018, he temporarily took up the position of lead singer for famed samba group Sorriso Maroto, standing in for frontman Bruno Cardoso for a few months while he underwent treatment for myocarditis. Martins has since continued to juggle his acting and music careers; fittingly, he began portraying the character of Ryan dos Santos Silva, an aspiring singer, in the Brazilian soap Amor de Mãe (Mother’s Love) in 2019. Martins returned in 2020 with a new live DVD entitled 7550 Dias, accompanied by a six-track EP of the same name.
