Rusherking
Rusherking is an Argentine singer/rapper of urban Latin music. Born Thomas Tobar in 2000 in the northern province of Santiago del Estero, he developed his skills by competing in freestyle tournaments, and at 17 he moved to Buenos Aires to try his luck as a solo artist. He immediately began to release singles and collaborations, but his career only took off in earnest in 2019 after meeting producer Big One, who helmed his debut EP, Lado B. In 2020 Rusherking had his first taste of the charts when he was featured on tracks by Tiago PZK and María Becerra, and also had his first solo hit with a remix of "Además de Mí" featuring Duki, Lit Killah, Khea, and María Becerra. Over the next few years, he kept raising his profile with a steady stream of singles and collaborations (Iván Noble, Dread Mar-I, Reik, Emilia, L-Gante, Ulises Bueno) that found him venturing beyond trap and reggaeton into other genres such as bachata, cumbia, or even romantic ballad. The EP A Puro Dolor, an electro-cumbia joint project with Emanero and Ángel López, was released in 2024.
