JAF

Argentine rock singer/guitarist JAF (born Juan Antonio Ferreyra), formed his first band, called La Máquina Infernal, at the age of 12, later participating in Puntual and La Banda Marrón. In the mid-'80s, JAF joined local heavy metal act Riff, composing one of their greatest hits, a song called "Elena X," featured on Riff VII. JAF decided to start a solo career in 1989, making his debut with the release of Entrar En Vos. He followed that album with 1990's Diapositivas, which was produced by Jorge Da Silva and features a successful Spanish version of Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight." On October 5, 1990, RAF became an opening act for Eric Clapton at River Plate Stadium and for Billy Idol and Joe Cocker on January 14, 1991. That same year, Salida De Emergencia achieved gold and platinum status, getting a song called "Todo Mi Amor" climbing on local pop/rock charts. In 1994, BMG released JAF's Hombre De Blues, recorded in New York, followed by 1995's Corazón En Llamas, and No 7, independently released in April of 1997.
