Ian Karmel
Standup comedian Ian Karmel quickly became a sensation in his hometown of Portland, Oregon during the early 2010s for his hilarious observations about subjects such as junk food, relationships, and being a non-religious Jew. Karmel was trained in improvisational comedy with notable troupes Upright Citizens Brigade and the Groundlings. After winning local comedy competitions and being named the Funniest Person in Portland in 2011, he performed at numerous comedy festivals across the continent, in addition to appearances on Portlandia and the Travel Channel's Best Sandwich in America. After moving to Los Angeles, he became a writer and regular guest on E!'s Chelsea Lately, and made his late-night debut on Conan O'Brien's show in 2014. Karmel signed to Kill Rock Stars for the release of his debut album, the hipster-baiting 9.2 on Pitchfork, which was released in November of 2015.
