Andrea Jeremiah

Actress, playback singer, and musician Andrea Jeremiah was born in Arakkonam, Tamil Nadu, India on December 21, 1985. She is best-known for performing songs in the Tamil and Malayalam languages. Her musical journey began at the age of 8 when she began learning classical piano. By the age of 10, she joined the Young Stars, a group fashioned after child-based groups like the Jackson 5. In college, she studied theater but was planning on being a psychiatrist so turned down film offers since that was not her goal at the time. However, by the time she graduated, she decided to pursue a career as a singer. Her career as a playback singer began in 2005 with “Kannum Kannum Nokia”, which was featured in the film Anniyan. She also performed songs in films such as Bommarillu (2006), Yaaradi Nee Mohini (2008), Aayirathil Oruvan (2010), Goa (2010), Thuppakki (2012), and many others. As her career as a playback singer took off, she also took roles in films, making her debut in 2007’s Pachaikili Muthucharam. Although her acting career went from bit parts to lead roles, her main focus was still music. Some of her most popular songs include “Um Mella Asanthan” (from 2010’s Aayirathil Oruvan), “Idhu Varai” (from 2010’s Goa), and “Google Google” (from 2012’s Thuppakki). Andrea Jeremiah’s career has included many nominations and awards as both a playback singer and actress. She continues to balance both careers, earning more accolades for her music including songs such as “Rainbow Thirayl” (from 2020’s Takkar) and “Oh Soldriya” (from 2021’s Pushpa). She has also composed her own music for several projects including the song "Soul of Taramani" (from 2017’s Taramani).
