孟佳
Meng Jia (born on February 3, 1990), mostly known by her stage name Jia, is a Chinese singer, actress, and former member of South Korean girl group Miss A. She was initially recruited as a trainee by JYP Entertainment to take part in the Chinese version of South Korean girl group Wonder Girls in 2007, but the project was eventually shelved. Three years later, Jia was selected to participate in Miss A, a four-piece that made waves in the K-Pop scene with the albums A Class (2011) and Hush (2013), cultivating a large fanbase both in their home country and abroad. After the release of the EP Colors (2015), Jia decided to quit both the band and JYP Entertainment to focus on her own music. In 2016, she launched her career as a solo artist with the single “Drip,” a hip-hop-inspired track that reached Number 8 on Billboard China’s V Chart and was quickly followed by the release of her eponymous EP in 2017. The singer upped the ante with the EDM-infused “Candy” and “Who’s That Girl,” which peaked at Number 6 on the Chinese charts and earned her a prize in the category of Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 5th YinYueTai V-Chart Awards. In the following years, Jia stayed at the top of her game with the release of 2018 standalone singles “Weapon,” “Liwai,” and “Free,” an infectious pop earworm that became her highest-charting single by reaching Number 3 on the V Chart.
