Although Ricardo Silveira is obviously a talented guitarist, the material on this CD is not up to his level, even though he wrote all but two of the songs! The throwaway originals (which often look more toward pop than to jazz) are quite interchangeable, simple danceable vamps with catchy but forgettable melodies and automatic pilot playing by the rhythm section. Silveira sounds surprisingly reluctant to let go of the weak melodies on the innocuous and obviously commercial release.
