« On a encore tellement en tête le miraculeux album Grieg du Norske Solistkor, l'un des plus beaux disques de musique chorale de ces dernières années, qu'on n'imagine pas cet enregistrement hybride (Brahms - Schubert) gagner durablement sa place — dans notre esprit comme dans le peloton de tête d'une discographie bien dotée. Tendons l'oreille, pourtant, dès les neuf Zigeunerlieder d'ouverture (pourquoi pas les onze ?) : interprétations prodigues en nuances, en intentions, en variété d'expression, en attention au verbe, à peine desservie par un accompagnement pianistique assez mécanique.
