Nick De La Hoyde

Australian singer/songwriter and rapper Nick de la Hoyde wasn't always a professional musician. When he was just a teen, he pivoted from pro-sports into the music world, following his true calling with an emotional mix of pop and hip-hop heard on his 2015 debut Passion. As his style evolved, he began to incorporate more electronic textures into his songs, resulting in his introspective first full-length, 2020's A Beautiful Mess. Nick de la Hoyde was born in Sydney to a Syrian mother and British father. While he was still a teenager, he relocated to Barcelona, Spain to try his luck with professional soccer. There the young artist started rapping as a way to let off steam. Finding himself more interested in music, he returned to Australia and began recording. His early work featured singing and rapping atop melodic pop and acoustic numbers inspired by Ed Sheeran, Macklemore, Justin Bieber, and Drake. His debut EP, Passion, included a blend of genres and a spot by Monks of Mellonwah. His follow-up single, the aptly titled "Changing," arrived later in 2015. The track featured a slight tropical dance vibe, which would be one of many fresh additions to his sonic palette in 2016. He followed with the Weeknd-esque "Never Gonna Beg for It" and "Thinking Bout You." He continued to pump out singles into 2018, when he released "California," the first in a series that eventually landed on his first official full-length. A Beautiful Mess arrived in 2020. The introspective journey included previously released songs "Ghost" and "Animals."
