MIKE DIMES

Texas rapper Mike Dimes vaulted to viral fame in 2021 with "My Story," a swaggering declaration of self that garnered millions of streams across numerous platforms. Follow-up projects DLOG and 2022's In Dimes We Trust earned further plaudits and established him beyond his breakout hit. After signing with Epic, Dimes made his major-label debut with 2023's Texas Boy, which saw him collaborating with guests like Denzel Curry, Wiz Khalifa, and Joey Bada$$. Born Michael Good in Killeen, Texas, Dimes grew up in a military family and endured frequent moves around the country before eventually settling in San Antonio. He started writing poetry at a young age and during high school discovered artists like A$AP Rocky and Joey Bada$$, who inspired him to begin rapping. Dimes had already been recording for a few years when, in 2021, his song "My Story" went viral on TikTok. He was ready for his moment and quickly followed up with his first mixtape, DLOG. In March of the following year, he delivered In Dimes We Trust, his self-released debut album. With its high energy beats and confident, focused flow, the album was a critical success that eventually helped Dimes land a deal with the Epic-affiliated label. Where his first two projects were largely solo in nature, Dimes' major-label debut brought in a handful of heavy-hitting guests with the aim of mainstream visibility. Released in June 2023, Texas Boy repped his home state in song and, along with names like Maxo Kream and Denzel Curry, featured one of his heroes, Joey Bada$$, on the track "Hatchback."
