Zouhair Bahaoui
Zouhair Bahaoui was born on November 22, 1995 in the northern Moroccan city of Tétouan. Influenced by pop, raï and "urban" cultures, he first expressed himself musically through hip-hop, with a rap group called Jil Jdid (also the title of a song by Moroccan band H-Kayne). However, Bahaoui reverses these early aesthetic choices for a more pop voice tinged with the influences of Stevie Wonder, Beyoncé or Hussein El Jasmi. A first track appeared in 2016, "Bghit W Ga3ma 7assit", followed by covers of star Cheb Hasni, showing influences from raï and R'n'B. Zouhair Bahaoui followed this up with a string of major hits, including "Tsala Liya Solde" (2016), "Ghamza" (2017) and "Muchas Gracias" (2018), which reached tens of millions of listeners. Already a star in his own country, his popular hits are still going strong, with "Désolé" and "Décapotable " in 2018, on which Bahaoui hopes to open the doors of the international music market. In the meantime, he has become one of the Moroccan stars of the moment, including TiiwTiiw, with whom he signed a track in 2017: "Hasta Luego" in the company of CHK. After new titles such as "Favor" (2019), "Lewjah Tani" (2021) and "Lili Nhari" (2023), followed by an appearance as an actor in the Souwlo Dmou3i series in 2021, Zouhair Bahaoui has his fans hoping for his first major musical project.
