The Greenes
Family gospel group the Greenes emerged from North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains region in 1978 -- comprised of brothers Tim and Tony in tandem with sister Kim, the trio (originally accompanied by their father Everette on piano) toured steadily in the years to follow, finally earning national recognition in 1984 when their single "Gloryland" reached the Gospel Top 40. After Kim's exit from the act, the Greenes employed sopranos Amy Lambert and Milena Parks prior to adding TaRanda Kiser in late 1997; the album Special Time appeared a year later, followed in 1999 by Wonderful Story. So Happy was issued a year later.
