Roberto Blades
Panamanian Roberto Blades, brother of multi-talented Latin artist Rubén Blades, became seriously involved in music after dropping his plan of joining the U.S. Air Force. In 1981, Miami-based musicians joined him to assemble a tropical orchestra called Inmensidad, topping the charts with "Lágrimas" and "Ya No Regreso Contigo" soon after.
After teaming up with Latin music entrepreneur Emilio Estefan Jr., songwriter and producer Roberto Blades achieved his first Grammy awards for his work alongside Gloria Estefan and Marc Anthony, and the first one on his own for Encore, a collection of his greatest hits.
