Jahméne
Coming in second place on the British version of the talent show The X Factor in 2012, Jahméne Douglas was one of the show's most popular and well-liked contestants. Born in Birmingham, U.K. in 1991, Douglas had a difficult upbringing and sought solace in music. Entering as a contestant on the Simon Cowell-produced show at the age of 21 changed his life. He was mentored by Nicole Scherzinger and steadily won over viewers with his powerful vocals. Signed by RCA after the show he released his first full-length album, Love Never Fails, in July 2013. The record topped the U.K. album chart and saw Douglas release his cover of David Guetta's "Titanium" as a single.
In 2014 he signed with the indie label Moonshot Music and began work on his sophomore album, collaborating with such celebrated songwriters as Diane Warren and Andrea Martin. The first single, "Down for Love," was released in 2015 under the mononym Jahméne and had an old-school hip-hop/R&B sound. Two more singles were released in 2016, followed by Jahméne's second album, the wonderfully titled Unfathomable Phantasmagoria.
2018 saw Jahmene out on tour in support of British R&B star Gabrielle before heading out on his own with a run of live dates.
