Gato da Bato
Gato Da Bato is a Haitian hip-hop artist who hails from the city of Port-au-Prince. Having moved at an early age to escape the authoritarian regime in his home country, he ended up in Florida to pursue his music career.
After being spotted by French rapper Booba, he quickly signed the Haitian to his label Tallac Records and they released collaboration 'Nu Lajan' in 2010. Gato Da Bato continued to collaborate with Booba on a number of projects and featured on his gold and platinum records 'Autopsie V4' and 'Futur 2.0' respectively.
In 2013, his debut mixtape was released. Entitled 'Zoé Land Tout Est Noir', it was released to a wave of acclaim within the communities of which he had become a leader. Gato Da Bato is seen as a fundamental figure in the rise of urban Creole music and a member of the pioneering 92i crew.
