Featurist

In 2005, Guy-Constant Fotso Kamtua (City) and Marino Donald Noutchui Ndjanbouo (Yanstar) decided to join forces for a musical project. The result was the duo Featurist, first brought to public attention with the single "Konlait". An instant hit, the track established the singers as one of the names to watch in Cameroonian afropop. Through a trip to Europe, including France, City familiarizes himself with new composition and production techniques, which he incorporates into the group's work. Their first album, Africa d'où je viens, was released in 2011. Featurist repeated the formula a few years later, unveiling three tracks as part of the French structure White House Music, including the hit "Babaah (La danse du grand-père" (2014), directly inspired by the dance steps of footballer Samuel Eto'o's celebrations. After "Touh Mbap" (2015), a second album was released in 2018: Arrête-nous si tu peux (2018). On the strength of these twenty tracks and several collaborations, notably alongside DJ Kedjevara or Mr Winney, Featurist subsequently became more discreet in terms of composition, surfing on the many successes already established in their career.
