Bewhy
BewhY – born Lee Byung-yoon in Daejeon, South Korea on June 15, 1993 – is a Korean Christian hip hop artist. He’s best-known as the winner of fifth season of the televised talent show Show Me the Money in 2016. Also known as a member of the $exy Street & Yello Music Crew, his first release was the 2012 mixtape Be The Livest. He released his first two singles – “Waltz” and “Swimming Bananas” (featuring Keebo) – in 2014 and his debut solo album, Time Travel, in 2015. The album featured the hit single “The Time Goes On”, which climbed to Number 17 on the chart. In 2016, he became a contestant on the fifth season of South Korean talent showcase Show Me the Money. BewhY won first place while his childhood friend C Jamm came in second. Two of his singles from the show – “Forever” and “Day Day” – reached Number 2 on the singles chart. BewhY’s second album, The Blind Star, was released in September 2017 and hit Number 13. His third album, The Movie Star, was released in 2019 and featured the single “Gottasadae”. In June 2020, he released the EP Neo Christian followed six months later by the single “Side by Side” (from the soundtrack to the film Sweet Home.
