Antes de realizar In The Grace of Your Love, el cantante y letrista Luke Jenner se convirtió en padre, perdió a su madre por suicidio y se convirtió al catolicismo. Estos acontecimientos fomentaron el material más enfocado y orientado a las canciones de The Rupture - uno en el cual la muerte, la devoción y los niños son temas recurrentes, expresados en estado de profunda angustia y alegría redentora. El sonido de la banda permanece arraigado en una forma de dance-rock inspirada por el post-punk y la new wave con la desviación ocasional hacia la música plenamente dance. Philippe Zdar de Cassius lo produjo todo y como otro álbum con su toque, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix de Phoenix, tanto los temas más cortos como los más largos parecen idealmente construidos. In the Grace of Your Love es el álbum de la banda más potente y vital hasta el momento.
