RJ Pasin

RJ Pasin is an American guitarist and producer known for his technical virtuosity and vibrant fusion of metalcore, deathcore, and hyperpop. His strong social media presence helped him earn a large and devoted fan base who embraced songs like "Isekai" from his 2023 album of the same name. Pasin's wild 2024 single "Lobster" was even more successful, pulling in millions of streams and landing on Billboard's TikTok chart. A gifted musician from a young age, Pasin studied classical, then jazz piano as a child, later teaching himself production. Along with an interest in electronic and trap music, he was attracted to heavy guitar music, noting My Chemical Romance as an early influence. As a guitarist, he gravitated toward a blend of improvisation and tight, technical composition. Starting in 2018, Pasin began releasing singles like "Balance" and "Grow." These early tracks showcased a smooth, more ambient tone. By 2023, he had developed his own distinctive amalgam of bright, glitchy hyperpop production and impossibly fast metalcore riffs, which he often unpacked through his popular online videos. Songs like "Isekai" and "Final Battle" pulled in significant streams, and he included them on his debut album, also called Isekai. Pasin also collaborated widely with artists like Jordan Adetunji, Jay Moon, and Tom Frane. By 2024, he'd built up a prolific catalog of work, releasing the TikTok-charting hit "Lobster" and launching the side project ptasinski with an EP, alchemy.
