Mercury (Universal France)

Mercury Records a été fondé en 1945 à Chicago (Illinois) par Irving Green, Berle Adams et Arthur Talmadge. Rapidement, l'enseigne deviendra un pôle majeur dans les répertoires jazz, blues, rock et classique, grâce à ses filiales Blue Rock, Cumberland, Emarcy, Fontana, Limelight, Philips, Smash et Wing et une politique de licences avec les labels indépendants qu'elle distribuait.
