La série de films The Hunger Games se caractérise par le soin apporté à ses bandes originales, à l'instar de ce qui s'était par exemple passé pour Twilight dont le public est similaire. Pour l'avant-dernier long-métrage de la série The Hunger Games: Mockinjay, Part 1 (Hunger Games : La Révolte, partie 1 en version française), la conception de la bande originale a été confiée à Lorde. La Néo-Zélandaise s'est appliquée à construire une compilation sur mesure pour accompagner les aventures de la rebelle Jennifer Lawrence.
Elle n'a pas ménagé sa peine en allant quérir quelques collaborations inattendues pour ce troisième volet de la saga. Stromae fait ainsi ses débuts en anglais pour « Meltdown » avec Lorde, Pusha T, Q-Tip et Haim. Grace Jones joue à merveille son rôle dans « Beast » aux percussions tribales faisant écho aux cris bestiaux de la toujours sauvage jamaïcaine. Les Chemical Brothers se voient adjoindre la voix de Miguel pour un mélange des genres qui met en plein dans le mille de « This Is Not a Game ».
Autre rencontre savoureuse avec Charli XCX confrontée au vétéran Simon Le Bon de Duran Duran sur « Kingdom ». Tove Lo est elle aussi de passage pour le trip hop de « Scream My Name ». Lorde ne s'est pas oubliée et est en solo sur trois des chansons, dont « Yellow Flicker Beat » qui est sorti en single en septembre 2014. Il faut d'ailleurs souligner que contrairement à de nombreuses bandes originales de films constituées de chansons n'ayant aucun rapport avec le sujet, Lorde a tenu à ce que les créations originales présentes ici racontent bien l'histoire de ce « geai moqueur » et révolté.
Le disque The Hunger Games: Mockinjay, Part 1, est une forme de modèle pour les bandes originales de films qui ne sont pas l'oeuvre d'un compositeur unique. Il montre que diversité et cohérence peuvent faire bon ménage et dévoile de la part de Lorde un talent insoupçonné. Une nouvelle corde à son arc comme pourrait le dire Katniss Everdeen.

Chronique
La série de films The Hunger Games se caractérise par le soin apporté à ses bandes originales, à l'instar de ce qui s'était par exemple passé pour Twilight dont le public est similaire. Pour l'avant-dernier long-métrage de la série The Hunger Games: Mockinjay, Part 1 (Hunger Games : La Révolte, partie 1 en version française), la conception de la bande originale a été confiée à Lorde. La Néo-Zélandaise s'est appliquée à construire une compilation sur mesure pour accompagner les aventures de la rebelle Jennifer Lawrence.
Elle n'a pas ménagé sa peine en allant quérir quelques collaborations inattendues pour ce troisième volet de la saga. Stromae fait ainsi ses débuts en anglais pour « Meltdown » avec Lorde, Pusha T, Q-Tip et Haim. Grace Jones joue à merveille son rôle dans « Beast » aux percussions tribales faisant écho aux cris bestiaux de la toujours sauvage jamaïcaine. Les Chemical Brothers se voient adjoindre la voix de Miguel pour un mélange des genres qui met en plein dans le mille de « This Is Not a Game ».
Autre rencontre savoureuse avec Charli XCX confrontée au vétéran Simon Le Bon de Duran Duran sur « Kingdom ». Tove Lo est elle aussi de passage pour le trip hop de « Scream My Name ». Lorde ne s'est pas oubliée et est en solo sur trois des chansons, dont « Yellow Flicker Beat » qui est sorti en single en septembre 2014. Il faut d'ailleurs souligner que contrairement à de nombreuses bandes originales de films constituées de chansons n'ayant aucun rapport avec le sujet, Lorde a tenu à ce que les créations originales présentes ici racontent bien l'histoire de ce « geai moqueur » et révolté.
Le disque The Hunger Games: Mockinjay, Part 1, est une forme de modèle pour les bandes originales de films qui ne sont pas l'oeuvre d'un compositeur unique. Il montre que diversité et cohérence peuvent faire bon ménage et dévoile de la part de Lorde un talent insoupçonné. Une nouvelle corde à son arc comme pourrait le dire Katniss Everdeen.
