Crépusculaire et langoureux, Sunset in Blue, publié en 2020, voit la vocaliste jazz américaine Melody Gardot revenir avec un album continuant de creuser un sillon l'ayant vue depuis ses débuts mêler standards jazz, tonalités brésiliennes et ballades intimistes. Notamment produit par le collaborateur de longue date Larry Klein, déjà à l'oeuvre sur My One and Only Thrill (2009) ou Currency of Man (2015), ici appuyé par l'arrangeur Vince Menza, ce recueil de douze nouveaux titres bénéficie d'un habillage aussi discret que classieux offrant un écrin de choix à la voix de Gardot et comprend, entre autres réussites, une relecture du "C'est magnifique" d'Ella Fitzgerald en compagnie d'Antonio Zambujo ou encore une interprétation feutrée de l'inoxydable "Moon River" d'Henry Mancini.
