Johnny. Un prénom qui se suffit à lui-même. La presse people comme la télévision en ont fait une telle cible qu’on en oublierait parfois qu’il est quand même avant tout là pour la musique… Ce qui tombe bien vu la qualité de cette cuvée 2014. Un cru du niveau de Sang pour sang, son dernier grand disque paru tout de même en 1998. Produit par Don Was, Rester vivant ne tranche guère entre les multiples obsessions de l’Idole des jeunes (rock, blues, soul et country). Et cette richesse fait de ce disque un impressionnant périple, jouant sur les ambiances, alternant les sensations et les rythmes, changeant de braquets quand nécessaire… Entouré d’un casting impressionnant de complices virtuoses de leur instrument ou de leur plume (Yodelice, Gary Wright, Maxime Nucci, Miossec, Jeanne Cherhal, Daran, Yarol, Pierre-Dominique Burgaud, Isabelle Bernal…), Johnny a rarement été aussi en confiance.
