Succédant au maxi Truth Serum contenant notamment le hit "Habits (Stay High)", désarmant aveu de faiblesse sur lequel elle confesse les moyens utilisés pour atténuer la douleur d'une séparation, Queen of the Clouds est le premier opus de la chanteuse suédoise Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson alias Tove Lo et s'inscrit quelque part entre l'hédonisme sucré d'une Icona pop et les carnets d'humeur d'une Sia. Si la chanteuse a d'abord cru ne pouvoir faire son trou qu'en écrivant pour d'autres dans l'ombre des médias, son premier opus ne fait que lui donner tort tant elle s'impose, à défaut d'une vocaliste unique, comme une artiste capable de trouvailles accrocheuses mais aussi et surtout comme une auteure à la franchise rafraîchissante, faisant de ses propres défauts ses meilleures armes.
