Paru officiellement en mai 1977, sept ans après la séparation des Beatles, ce Live At The Hollywood Bowl fut le premier album live officiel des Fab Four. Il offrait à l’époque treize titres enregistrés en août 1964 et août 1965, sur la mythique scène en extérieur de Los Angeles. Nettoyées par leur producteur George Martin, les bandes avaient été dévêtues des hurlements de la foule en délire. L’album était une trace assez magique de la Beatlesmania d’alors au beau milieu des années 60. En 1977, les Fab Four n’avaient pas été consultés pour la publication de ce disque qui s’installera pourtant au sommet des charts… La version qui parait en septembre 2016 accompagne en fait la sortie du documentaire de Ron Howard, The Beatles: Eight Days a Week. Remastérisée par Giles Martin (fils de George Martin) et Sam Okell, elle propose en plus des treize chansons parues ur la version de 1977, quatre titres en bonus: You Can't Do That, I Want To Hold Your Hand, Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby et Baby's in Black. © CM/Qobuz
