Présente sur la scène musicale canadienne depuis des années, cette chanteuse-compositrice talentueuse présente un premier album solo avec des histoires d’amour et de lumière, empreint d’une beauté teintée de mélancolie. D’influence jazz et d’école classique, Feist possède une voix dont l'intimité bien caractéristique fait souvent défaut aux artistes expérimentés. Cette chaleur complète les compositions joliment orchestrées de Let It Die d’un climat presque voyeur, comme lorsque l’on entend quelqu’un chantonner en s’endormant. L’agilité vocale de Feist lui permet aussi bien de chanter du cabaret français traditionnel sur "Tout Doucement" que du jazz onctueux et mélancolique sur "Gatekeeper". Mais la chanson qui fait monter les larmes aux yeux, c’est la ballade au piano très années 30 et cinématographique "Now at Last", dans laquelle Feist chante rêveusement "What makes winters lonely?/Now at last I know" (Qu’est-ce qui rend les hivers solitaires ? Maintenant enfin je le sais).
