Recorded at the Continental Club in Austin, TX with his backup band, the Guilty Men, Interstate City documents the nervy energy and gritty sound of Dave Alvin live in concert. Alvin tears through his back catalog with surprising gusto, touching on both the Blasters and his solo hits. Most enticing for fans, however, are the new songs he works into the set. Most of the newer numbers are on par with his finest material and they are delivered with an intoxicating rush. Interstate City is one of the rare live albums that actually improves on the original recordings.
