A straightforward outing with his trio (which also includes bassist Andy Simpkins and drummer Frank Gant), this excellent studio set features pianist Monty Alexander displaying his bop chops and creativity in a straightahead setting. Highlights include "Broadway," Oscar Pettiford's "Tricotism" and "Never Let Me Go." The fine music on this Lp has yet to be reissued on CD.
