Annoncé en 2020 par son morceau titre, Death by Rock and Roll, quatrième opus studio de la formation New-Yorkaise The Pretty Reckless, voit le jour en 2021, succédant dans l'exercice à Who You Selling For (2016). Première livraison du groupe pour le label Fearless Records, l'album propose une collection de douze nouveaux titres évoluant entre hard rock et post-grunge, mise en boîte sous la houlette de Jonathan Wyman et bénéficiant de l'énergie inextinguible de la chanteuse Taylor Momsen. Voyant en outre défiler les participations du batteur Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam, Soundgarden) et du guitariste Kim Thayil (Soundgarden) sur "Only Love Can Save Me Now" ainsi que du guitariste Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine) sur "And So It Went", l'album décroche la première place du classement rock et metal britannique.
