Aussi génial que confidentiel, Ran Blake a toujours été fasciné – donc influencé – par le cinéma. Après son Film Noir paru en 1980, ce Chabrol Noir est une nouvelle pièce à ce dossier. En solo sur deux tiers des titres, le pianiste américain joue la carte de l’épure pour mieux jongler avec les thématiques propres à l’ambiance des films de Claude Chabrol. Suspense, tension, drame, émotion, silence, tout ici est abordé avec finesse et intelligence.
