Derrière cet étrange sobriquet Waxahatchee se cache en fait Katie Crutchfield. La jeune folkeuse teigneuse américaine avait fait tendre quelques oreilles avec son premier album American Weekend paru en 2012. Pour le chapitre de 2 de sa jeune saga, on retrouve de jolis cris qui ne sont pas sans rappeler ceux poussés, à leurs débuts, par Cat Power et Liz Phair. Ici, comme chez ses augustes aînées, l'essence est folk mais la dégaine est foncièrement rock'n'roll. De l'indie rock assez basique, sobre, simple et épuré qui vaut le détour pour la tenue de ses chansons. Une vraie découverte.
