Dylan Shearer

Dreamy, melancholic singer/songwriter Dylan Shearer's slightly psychedelic tunes lean toward the same inward-looking chamber pop sounds of classic introverts like Kevin Ayers, Syd Barrett, Van Dyke Parks, and other beautiful weirdos of '60s pop psych. Shearer began playing music and recording songs early in his childhood, sometimes jamming with his father's blues band and eventually branching out into noisier rock and experimentalism in his teens and early twenties. Following a phase of making heavily experimental sounds, Shearer rediscovered his love of pop music and recorded Carousel Doors. This was followed by 2009's Planted/Plans, which was released in an extremely limited vinyl run of just 100 copies. The album circulated digitally and received good reviews from a variety of blogs and publications, and Shearer followed in 2012 with Porchpuddles, and two years later with Garagearray, released in conjunction with Bay Area garage rock legend John Dwyer's Castle Face label.
