Supa Dupa Humble
Born in the East Caribbean island country of St. Lucia and raised in New York from an early age, rapper Supa Dupa Humble spent over ten years as a DJ before making the transition to writing rhymes. The seeds for his unique style can be traced back to early childhood, when his mother (living in New York and saving money before moving her child over to the States) sent him a cassette copy of Busta Rhymes' 1997 album, When Disaster Strikes. Injecting a megadose of raw, relentless hip-hop into a young Supa Dupa's reggae and calypso-saturated environments made waves in his impressionable young mind. After moving to New York, he eventually started doing DJ gigs under the name Supa Dupa, adding "Humble" when he began producing his own music around 2016. The early single "I'm Michael Jackson" quickly generated online buzz, and Supa Dupa Humble parlayed the attention into an ever-growing social media fan base. He offered up the seven-song Humble Gardens EP in 2017, and followed up the same year with the singles "Too Busy" and "Big Daddy." Early in 2018 Supa Dupa Humble signed a deal with Roc Nation, and new music came shortly afterwards with the single and video "Steppin'."
