B00ty
Los Angeles duo B00ty are an electronic duo known for their hooky brand of soul-influenced, dance-oriented pop. Since 2016 they have grabbed listeners with tracks like "Carry the Load," "Holy," and "Modern Romance."
Formed in 2014, B00ty came together while bandmates Edan Freiberger and Adam Epelbaum were studying theater, film, and television at UCLA. Prior to joining forces, Freiberger had taken classical violin since age four and had produced his own music; conversely, Epelbaum had been involved in theater, as well as hip-hop. It was while living in the famed Sheats Apartments building (aka "The Treehouse") that they began working on music together, bringing together their artistic influences with their love of '70s soul, electronic dance, and pop. In 2016, they issued the slow, '70s-style R&B jam "Carry the Load," and paired with Auralponic and HumbleRatt for "Bad Reputation." More tracks followed such as "Loosen Up," "Funky Sista," and a cover of SZA's "The Weekend." They signed with Geffen Records and in 2019 issued their debut EP, High Art, which included the tracks "Good for It" and "Trust Me" featuring Kill Nigel.
