Positions, el sexto álbum de Ariana Grande, es una bastante monocromática banda de sonido para largas noches de sexo. Las letras a menudo explícitas contrastan con el modo de cantar de Grande, más controlado que sensual. Esta tensión no sabotea necesariamente el disco, sino que ayuda a mantener una atmósfera consistente durante toda su duración. Lamentablemente, Positions no aporta mucho más que un sonido genéricamente sexy: pocas canciones se destacan individualmente, los ritmos y las producciones están todos pintados en distintos tonos de gris y hasta la voz y la personalidad de la cantante son absorbidas por el concepto diseñado por ella misma. Aunque quizás sea precisamente ese el objetivo del álbum: ser música para sexo y nada más.
