A pesar del título, este debut de la anterior cantante de Faithless suena bastante angelical. Sin duda incita a pensar en Sinéad O'Connor, pero la comparación es tan engañosa como inevitable. Es cierto que la etérea voz de Dido en este disco recuerda frecuentemente a O'Connor; pero la música de Dido, aunque aumentada de manera imaginativa con electrónica, es menos innovadora. Amén de las letras de No Angel, las cuales se centran casi exclusivamente en el amor, el deseo y las relaciones. Dicho esto, lo cierto es que se trata de un álbum prometedor y muy agradable de escuchar: evocador, seductor y con una producción y una estructura estupendas.
