All the world loves a singles LP that includes B-sides, especially when all of 'em are so damn hard to find. This is the essential idea from the stylish Scottish pop group and the Kitchenware label, especially for curious American pop fans, given how much it would set them back to get each one of these singles individually. And though it sometimes seems that Hurrah! could stand a little spit and noise or some punk attitude to enliven their precious pop, more akin to the rougher spirit of the Postcard Records bands four years previously, they do stick to what they already know they are good at, and that's really mannered, well-written, well-sung, insta-hit pop tunes. Maybe their depth is what keeps them from obliterating the Simply Reds of the world, as they would in a fair fight, but this collection shows they've put up a good show trying.
