La banda madrileña cumplió tres décadas en 2015 y lo celebró con un nuevo contrato con Universal Music, discográfica de la primera etapa del grupo, y con un concierto en la sala El Sol a comienzos de año. Unos meses después el sello editó este doble CD + DVD que documenta el evento, en el que La Frontera rememora su pasado en 40 canciones y aprovecha para demostrar su presente – si bien siempre liderados por Javier Andreu y Toni Marmota la nueva formación incluye al guitarrista Harry Palmer en lugar de Nico Álvarez, al trompetista Angelo Mancini (Mano Negra) y al pianista Charli Fierro, quien regresara al grupo luego de 15 años. Se suman en calidad de invitados especiales colegas como Carlos Segarra, Lou Garx y José Antonio García.
