16 Most Requested Songs is drawn entirely from Engelbert Humperdinck's recordings for Columbia Records in the '80s. That means, although "Release Me" and other early hits are included, they are all presented in inferior live versions. Furthermore, his original material -- though professionally performed -- pales next to his early material, so the compilation is unnecessary and it certainly should not be mistaken for an essential collection, nor an introduction to the singer.
