Vincent Vallières

Before breaking out with the 2010 hit "On va s’aimer encore," Québécois singer/songwriter Vincent Vallières spent a decade proving himself to be a remarkably durable artist, releasing a steady flow of quality albums and diligently building his fan base through regular touring. A native of Sherbrooke, Vallières began developing his amiable mix of roots and alt-rock during his teenage years, forming a band called Trente Arpents that eventually attracted the attention of producer Bernard Y. Caza. With Caza's help, the band was reshaped into a solo vehicle, with the band's name becoming the title of Vallières' first release in 1999. Over the next ten years, the singer devoted himself to his craft, earning acclaim throughout Québéc and releasing high-grade albums like 2001's Bordel Ambiant, 2003's Chacun Dans Son Espace, and 2006's Le Repère Tranguille. Vallières' career received a major boost when the single "On va s’aimer encore," from his 2009 release Le Monde Tourne Fort, became a hit on Canadian radio, vaulting the veteran songwriter onto the national stage. His 2013 follow-up, Fabriquer L'aube, also performed well, eventually going gold. Throughout the years, Vallières has honed his songwriting style, touring and recording with the help of his long-running solo band. Le Temps des Vivants, the singer's seventh release, appeared in 2017.
