Gilroy Mere
Gilroy Mere is a pseudonym of British folk and electronic musician Oliver Cherer, who has also released albums as Dollboy, Rhododendron, and Australian Testing Labs. Cherer's many projects have generally involved an experimental approach to U.K. folk and, as Gilroy Mere, he continues to mine Britain's past while filtering his unique sounds through the lens of the present. Mere's 2017 debut, The Green Line, is an instrumental collection inspired by the bus system of the same name that once connected central London with its surrounding rural towns and villages. At times quirky and pastoral, The Green Line utilizes ambient electronics, folk instruments, and unusual chamber pop arrangements.
