Erwann Kermorvant

Born in 1972 in Lorient, Morbihan, Erwann Kermorvant studied clarinet for several years at the local conservatory. Unaware at the time that he was heading for a musical career, he had a decisive encounter with Hollywood-based musician Ralph Grierson, who hired him as an assistant in his Music & Health studio.

On his way to Los Angeles, the young Breton entered the Grove School of Music, then UCLA, after a detour to Northridge University. Erwann Kermorvant trained as a film composer with professionals Gerald Fried, Don B. Ray and arranger Steven Scott. Ray and arranger Steven Scott Smalley(Batman, Mission Impossible). Back in France, the composer took part in various group experiments with Mensana and Katoomka, in a funk style.

In 1996, after composing several pieces for the École Normale de Musique de Lorient (notably Ward), Erwann Kermorvant set up his own recording studio, Karma Studio. In 1999, he moved to Paris, where he began a career as a composer of film music. His first major soundtrack was for Mais Qui A Tué Pamela Rose, Éric Lartigau's film starring the hilarious duo Kad and Olivier.
